We are seeking a Board Certified Pathologist for ongoing locum coverage in a hospital-based pathology department. This opportunity includes surgical pathology sign-out, frozen sections, and cytopathology support within a collaborative pathology team.
Assignment Details:
- ASAP start
- Ongoing coverage until permanent provider hired
- Onsite weekday coverage required
Schedule:
- Monday Friday
- 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
- Night and weekend call required
Practice Setting:
- Hospital-based pathology department
- Trauma Level II facility
- Epic EMR
Work Details:
- Surgical pathology sign-out
- Frozen section interpretation
- Rapid onsite cytology evaluation
- Cytopathology sign-out as needed
Volume Expectations:
- surgical pathology cases/day
- 3 5 cytopathology cases/day
- 2 3 FNA cases/day
Annual Department Volumes:
- 9,000 surgical pathology cases
- 1,000 cytopathology cases
- 400 FNAs
Support Structure:
- Collaborative team with 3 full-time pathologists
- No APP supervision responsibilities
Requirements:
- Physician (MD/DO)
- Board Certified in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology required
Credentialing:
- Emergency privileges available
Additional Notes:
- Coverage needed to replace outgoing physician
