Locum Tenens Opportunity: Interventional Cardiologist Northern Michigan
Ascend Medical Staffing is seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Cardiologist for a long-term locum tenens assignment in Northern Michigan.
Open Call Coverage Dates (72-hour blocks):
- January 9 12, 2026
- February 6 9, 2026
- March , 2026
- April , 2026
- May , 2026
- June , 2026
Compensation:
- $2800 per 24-hour call
- $450/hour for callback
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide 24-hour in-hospital call coverage, including weekends
- Perform urgent/emergent cardiac catheterizations and PCI procedures
- Manage general cardiology patients (CHF, arrhythmias, ACS, post-PCI care)
- Daily rounding on hospitalized cardiology patients
- Supervise and collaborate with an on-site Advanced Practice Provider (APP)
- Utilize full-service Cath Lab, 24/7 radiology/lab support, and hospitalist teams
- Document care using Cerner EHR
- Participate in code responses and airway management with hospitalist and anesthesia teams
- Coordinate occasional transfers with McLaren Bay, Lansing, or nearby facilities
Requirements:
- Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology
- Active Michigan medical license in good standing REQUIRED
- Must reside in or near Michigan REQUIRED
- Clean background for expedited credentialing REQUIRED
- Availability for listed dates REQUIRED
- DEA Verbal confirmation required at name clear REQUIRED
- Must be CLEAR for credentialing
