This Interventional Radiology opportunity in Lansing, Michigan is seeking a full-time, Board-Certified Interventional Radiologist to join a well-established hospital-based IR team consisting of three physicians and two APPs. The position offers a consistent day-shift schedule with a 1:3 call rotation and provides a broad range of complex interventional procedures in a Level I Trauma Center setting. The facility is open to locum providers who can commit to at least 2 3 weeks of coverage per month.
Dates / Schedule
- Coverage needed ASAP
- Estimated credentialing timeframe: Approximately 90 days (expedited process available for urgent needs)
- Day-shift hospital-based schedule
- Call coverage:
- Every third weekday (Q3)
- Every third weekend
- 1:3 call rotation among Interventional Radiologists
- Average case volume: Approximately 8 cases per day
- Facility open to travel providers able to provide 2 3+ weeks of coverage per month
Job Details / Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive Interventional Radiology services in a hospital-based practice setting.
- Perform a wide range of image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including:
- Angioplasty
- Stent placement
- Embolization
- Needle biopsies
- Thrombolysis
- Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE)
- Additional experience with orthopedic, gynecologic, and urologic interventions is preferred.
- Work collaboratively with a support team that includes:
- 3 Interventional Radiologists
- 2 Advanced Practice Providers
- Department manager and ancillary staff
- Primarily treat adult patients, including a significant geriatric population.
- Provide inpatient and emergency procedural coverage within a Level I Trauma Center.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Board Certification in Interventional Radiology (Required)
- Active Michigan Medical License (Required)
- IMLC/compact licenses not accepted
- BLS Certification (Required)
- ACLS Certification (Required)
- Current NPDB self-query dated within 30 days of presentation (Required)
- Clean malpractice and license history strongly preferred
- Ability to participate in weekday and weekend call rotation
- Experience performing a broad range of interventional radiology procedures
