Hematologist/Oncologist Locums Job in St. Louis, Missouri
We are working with a healthcare partner seeking a Oncology physician for locum tenens coverage. This opportunity offers a mix of outpatient clinic and inpatient care within an academic, multidisciplinary oncology program.
Dates of Coverage:
ASAP start upon credentialing
Initial need of approximately 6 to 8 weeks with potential to extend
Schedule: Looking for someone to assist with Clinic coverage. Additionally open to someone covering their inpatient rounding
Clinic only Schedule:
Monday: 8a-noon
Wednesday: Noon-4pm
Thursday: 8a-noon
Friday: 8a-4pm
Clinic and Inpatient Rotations:
-Monday:
Clinic: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Inpatient: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Wednesday:
Inpatient: 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM
Clinic: 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Thursday:
Clinic: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Inpatient: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Friday:
Clinic: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Details and Requirements:
Oncology Boarded physician required
Outpatient clinic coverage combined with inpatient rounding
Independent rounding responsibilities averaging approximately 5 patients per day
Outpatient clinic volume ranging from approximately 10 to 18 patients per day depending on rounding time.
Mix of new patient consults and follow up visits
Clinical Scope:
Broad oncology exposure including breast, lung, colorectal, solid tumors, prostate, pancreatic, and head and neck cancers
Hematologic conditions including leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and benign hematology
Management of oncologic emergencies and ongoing treatment oversight
Procedural Scope Includes:
Chemotherapy management and supervision
Bone marrow biopsies and aspirations
Central line and infusion related care
Blood transfusions and growth factor support
Genetic testing coordination and multidisciplinary case collaboration
