Job Description

Nexus Inspections and Testing LLC provides optimized special inspection for clients specific needs and strict timeline. Our projects include new buildings,
existing buildings alterations and renovations, shaping iconic contributions to the New York City Skyline.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform NYC DOB Special Inspections in accordance with the NYC Building Code, industrial Standard and Codes, and approved construction
documents.
Conduct structural special inspections including concrete, steel, masonry, welding, bolting, soils, foundations, structural piles, support of excavation, and structural stability, curtain walls, mechanical, fireproofing, firestopping, building energy.
Perform site observations and inspections for compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
Prepare detailed inspection reports, inspection logs, and NCR log, progress documentation using DOB-approved formats.
Identify non-conforming work and coordinate corrective actions with foreman, contractors, superintendents, and project design applicant.
Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, contractors, design professionals.
Maintain inspection schedules and ensure timely completion of required inspections.
Attend site meetings and respond to field-related technical questions.
Be able to drive to the job site as required.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Civil/Structural/Geotech Engineering (masters degree is a plus).
License and Certificate:
Drivers License.
40-Hour OSHA + SST card (required)
ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I (required)
ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector, or ICC-CSI (required) ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Inspector (preferred)
AWS CWI or ICC-SWI (preferred)
ICC Structural Masonry Inspector (preferred)
Experience: 3 years special inspections experience in NY, with exposure to NY projects (Commercial, Residential, Assembly, Educational, Institutional, etc.).
Software Skills: including but not limited to Microsoft Suite, Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD.
Local Authority Approval Knowledge: Familiarity with NYC DOB regulations, and OSHA regulations.
Soft Skills: Strong communication, self-motivated, and teamwork abilities.

Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary $70,000 - $80,000 and Bonus.
