Job Description
Manage a mechanical engineering group responsible for mechanical systems and equipment design. Manage programs for Research and development of new technologies relating to mechanical engineering as appropriate, and ensure that newly created products and methodologies are incorporated into Applied Materials products/services, and/or disseminated to other areas as needed. Lead a team of engineers and own end-to-end execution of engineering projects to deliver complete solutions for technical problems of varying complexity. Deconstruct on-wafer performance requirements into engineering design requirements, and work with multiple disciplines (chemical, mechanical, electrical, systems and software engineers) to design and develop solutions that meet and exceed design requirements. Work with internal experts and suppliers to design systems and their components that achieve performance requirements. Perform structured tests to validate designs and characterize window of operation to establish design margins. Analyze data using various data analysis software to understand trends in data, and statistical significance and make sound conclusions. Validate solutions by performing engineering calculations to correlate actual test results. Give technical presentations to internal cross-functional teams, management, and customers. REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree (US/foreign) in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, and 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in the semiconductor manufacturing industry. Demonstrate knowledge and/or experience in each of the following: 1. 3D CAD Software; 2. ANSYS; 3. JMP and advanced Excel for data analysis; 4. MATLAB; 5. SolidWorks; 6. Teamcenter; 7.
