Job Description

Full Time Teaching Hospital Rotating Days/Nights

Aya Locums is seeking an experienced Acute Care Advanced Practice Provider for a full time ICU assignment at a teaching hospital in Massachusetts. This role is well suited for an APP with strong critical care experience who prefers a collaborative environment and a non procedural scope of practice.

Position Overview:
  • Coverage Type: Full time
  • Schedule: Rotating day/night shifts, including weekends and holidays
    • Days: 6:00am 7:00pm
    • Nights: 6:00pm 7:00am
    • Friday night shifts count as weekend coverage
  • Preference for providers who can remain local during assignment
  • Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 90 days
Facility & Practice Details:
  • Teaching hospital
  • ICU setting
  • ICU Size: 10 beds
  • Average Daily Census: 7
  • Patient Population: Adult
  • EMR: Epic
Scope of Practice:
  • Bread and butter ICU and Med/Surg coverage
  • Typically 1 2 burn patients at a time
  • No procedures required
  • No intubations, central lines, ventilator management, EVDs, transplants, ECHOs, head cases, or complex neuro/stroke cases
  • APPs function as responding clinicians only
  • No billing responsibilities

Typical Day:

  • Morning rounds with attending physician
  • Completion of clinical tasks
  • Afternoon rounds with attending
Requirements:
  • Board certified Acute Care NP or PA
  • Minimum 2+ years of critical care experience
  • Active Massachusetts license required (facility will not license)
  • ACLS and BLS
  • DEA required
