Controller/Accounting Manager
Reputable, stable, growing construction company, in business for well over 60 years, and servicing clients across Utah and Idaho, is seeking an experienced Controller/Accounting Manager.
Reporting to the president, the Controller will be responsible for managing all accounting functions, financial reporting, and compliance, and will play a pivotal role in financial decision-making, providing insights and analysis to support strategic planning and risk management, and ensuring all financial operations are running smoothly, accurately, and in compliance with company and state guidelines and regulations.

Essential Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all accounting operations including billing, AR/AP, payroll, inventory, and general ledger, and
journal entries.
Oversee monthly and annual financial close processes and reporting cycles
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax and licensing regulations.
Coordinate and direct the preparation of annual, multi-year budgets and financial forecasts with Construction and Equipment divisions management
Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements following GAAP.
Manage balance sheet reconciliation and ensure all accounts are properly reconciled.
Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Determine and provide strategic planning and fiscal management.
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal tax regulations.
Coordinate annual audits and regulatory filings.
Maintain good relationships with representatives of external financial partners and institutions
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred. Commensurate experience may be acceptable.
3 - 5 years of experience working in finance within a construction company
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial systems, and internal controls
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite. ERP experience required, Microsoft SL a plus
Proven ability to lead and develop accounting teams
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability communicates with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner
Ability to analyze financial issues and make logical recommendations based on findings
Exceptional communication, analytical, and organizational skills
High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
