Technical Director, Aluminum Extrusion & Alloys, & Automotive Solutions
Key role that leads customer-focused technical strategy and aluminum alloy development, driving billet innovation and value-added solutions for automotive markets. MUST HAVE a Green Card or be a US Citizen.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive experience in Aluminum Extrusion, Aluminum Metallurgy & Automotive Industry
- Strong technical and scientific skills relating to the science behind aluminum alloys, design and the effect
- Strong background in alloy design & billet production
- Proven ability to lead technical teams focused on innovation, CI & customer solutions
- Strong business acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and KPI management
- Excellent communication & stakeholder engagement skills across commercial, technical & operational teams
- 3060% travel required (potentially higher if remote), including occasional international travel
EDUCATION: Masters or PhD in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Engineering, or related discipline
K EY RESPONSIBILITIES Include:
- Connect commercial, technical, and operational functions.
- Drive alloy design, development, and qualification activities aligned with customer and market needs
- Leads the Customer Technical Support team.
- Lead technical strategy for automotive markets, including development & expansion of recycling-based alloys
- Partner with recycling & Casthouse operations to ensure consistent production of high-quality products
- Support sales and marketing teams with technical expertise, customer engagement, and solution development
- Provide technical leadership to senior management on strategic initiatives and complex challenges
- Represent the company in industry forums and technical committees
