Job Title: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Inpatient Adult Psychiatry

Location: Mansfield Center, Connecticut (Inpatient Behavioral Health Facility)
Facility Type: 56-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital

Schedule: Flexible schedule Full-time Coverage assignment (ASAP ongoing)
Call: No on-call responsibilities
OT: Eligible for daily OT after 8 hours; weekly OT after 168 hours

Position Summary

We are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join an inpatient adult psychiatric setting. The provider will support a 56-bed behavioral health unit, delivering essential medical care, performing physical examinations, and assisting with day-to-day inpatient medical management. This role focuses on collaborative care within a multidisciplinary psychiatric team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical oversight and general medical care for inpatient psychiatric patients
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and medical assessments
  • Manage approximately patients daily
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, nursing staff, and behavioral health teams
  • Address acute and chronic medical needs within a psychiatric inpatient population
  • Document patient encounters accurately in accordance with facility standards
  • Support continuity of care throughout admission and discharge processes
Requirements
  • Active Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification
  • Current Connecticut state licensure (required)
  • Experience in inpatient, psychiatric, or behavioral health settings preferred
  • Strong ability to manage medically complex patients in a behavioral health environment
  • Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
