About Oaks Ministries

Oaks Ministries exists to empower students to become Christ-centered leaders who transform their communities with the hope of the Gospel. Rooted in Isaiah 61:3-5, our vision is to see students grow into Oaks of Righteousness, using their God-given gifts to serve and lead in Augusta and beyond.

Mission Alignment

The Middle School Coordinator supports the mission of Oaks Ministries by shepherding middle school students from under-resourced neighborhoods in downtown Augusta through relational ministry, discipleship, and engaging programming. This role is highly relational and presence-driven, requiring creativity, consistency, and a deep love for middle school students during a formative season of growth.

  • Build meaningful, trusting relationships with middle school students through consistent presence in schools, neighborhoods, and families
  • Regularly check in with students and parents to support academic, social, and spiritual growth
  • Attend students' extracurricular activities (sports, performances, school events, etc.)

Program Leadership - Urban Leadership Project (ULP)

  • Plan, lead, and implement weekly Middle School ULP gatherings on Tuesday nights
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers serving with middle school students
  • Plan engaging activities, speakers, and teaching content aligned with Oaks' mission
  • Create a safe, welcoming, and structured environment for students

  • Experience working with middle school students, preferably in an urban ministry context
  • Highly relational; able to connect naturally with students and families

  • Flexible schedule (urban ministry is not a 9-5 job)
  • Ability to recruit, lead, and support volunteers
  • Commitment to Oaks Ministries' values and culture
