Client located in the Twin Cities is looking to fill their need for an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join their surgical team. 13 Week contract with option to extend. Must be willing to float between 3 facilities.Job ResponsibilitiesThe surgical nurse practitioner is responsible for providing comprehensive care to surgical patients throughout the surgical process, from pre-operative assessment to post-operative recovery. They collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and facilitate effective communication among healthcare providers.Key Responsibilities:Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough pre-operative evaluations, including history-taking, physical exams, and diagnostic tests.Care Planning: Develop individualized care plans based on assessment findings and collaborate with the surgical team.Surgical Assistance: Assist surgeons in the operating room, which may include suturing, tissue handling, and monitoring patient vitals.Post-Operative Care: Monitor patients in the recovery area, manage pain, and identify complications early.Patient Education: Provide education to patients and families regarding surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and post-operative care.Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health records.Collaboration: Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and facilitate transitions between care settings.Research and Education: Participate in clinical research and contribute to the education of nursing students and staff.
