    Certification Details
  • BLS
  • RPH - Pharmacist State of Texas
  • IV Certification
  • 40 hours training in compounding sterile products accredited by ACPE or ASHP
    Job Details
  • Promote pharmaceutical care by managing the medication process, identifying and preventing potential drug-related problems, and resolving actual drug-related problems.
  • Perform duties of a registered pharmacist as defined by Texas Children's Hospital.
  • Responsibilities performed developmentally appropriate for ages 0-adult.
  • Ensure appropriateness of all medication doses considering patient diagnosis, weight/body surface area, allergies, and drug interactions.
  • Accurately enter medication orders in computer.
  • Ensure correct medications are dispensed with no errors.
  • Process medication orders and deliver doses within established guidelines.
  • Follow aseptic technique and infection control in preparation of sterile products.
  • Insist technicians and other pharmacists practice aseptic technique and infection control.
  • Complete annual re-certification and score at least 90% on aseptic technique/infection control skills and written exam as documented by a qualified observer.
    Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or Ph.D. in Pharmacy required.
  • RPH certification from the state of Texas required.
  • 2+ years hospital staff pharmacist experience required (Pediatric experience preferred).
  • 40 hours of training in compounding sterile products accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education or the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists required.
  • Clean room experience preferred.
  • Licensed practitioner with a valid, unrestricted license to conduct clinical activities.
    Schedule Information
  • Day shift 7a-7p, 10 hour variable shift.
  • Rotating weekends.
  • 40 hours per week.
    Additional Details
  • Ensure medications are processed and doses delivered within established guidelines as evidenced by peer review or lack of medication incident/customer complaint.
  • Use of HOSPITAL PHARMACY, EPIC systems.
