The Accounting Manger plays a crucial role in supporting and oversees the accounting aspects of our non-profit education organization. The Accounting Manager supports accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and contributes to the overall sustainability of our mission. Key Responsibilities: Financial Management: Manage all day-to-day accounting activities, including budget variance analysis. Oversee the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance with non-profit financial regulations. Financial Reporting: Manage timely month-end close. Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Budget Management: Monitor budget vs. actual performance and provide recommendations for adjustments. Grants and Funding: Assist in grant applications and reporting to secure funding for child development and trade tech programs. Ensure compliance with grant requirements and financial reporting. Prepare Quarterly State reports for State Funding Audit and Compliance: Support annual audits with external auditors and ensure compliance with all regulatory and tax obligations. Adhere to and maintain internal controls and financial policies. Financial Strategy: Contribute to the development of financial strategies and goals to support the organization's mission and long-term sustainability. Team Leadership : Supervise and provide leadership to the accounting and finance team. Foster a collaborative and professional work environment. Skills, Knowledge and abilities Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA is preferred. Proven experience in non-profit financial management, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior financial role preferred. Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting and compliance standards. Experience with the California Preschool Accounting Reporting Information system (CPARIS) Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers and other employees of the organization. Experience with child enrollment reporting requirements tied to state funding. Excellent financial analysis and reporting skills. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $99,000 - $114,000 Annual Bonus/Commission: No
