Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to support the maintenance and safety manager in the day-to-day operations of the departments. This position will be responsible for assisting in sourcing parts, organizing and cataloging spare parts inventory, ensuring that the PM program is scheduled, documented, and completed, creating and tracking work orders for unplanned repairs, logging inventory movement due to repairs, tracking technician hours by job, leading the safety committee, tracking, logging and ordering PPE inventory, and helping to evaluate plant safety to ensure continuous improvement.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Ensure that all necessary PMs are entered into the CMMS and that they are distributed promptly.
• Schedule necessary repairs to existing shop equipment.
• Quote outside labor and parts as necessary.
• Maintain control of maintenance inventory and ensure that parts and labor are issued to work orders.
• Ensure that necessary levels of PPE are readily available to all employees.
• Help with safety committees and conduct audits to assist in the continual improvement of plant safety protocols.
• Support the maintenance and safety manager in the efficient operation of the departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with other team members.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Experience:
• 3 years of experience with Microsoft Excel.
• 2 years of experience in supply chain sourcing.
• 1 year of experience with CMMS systems.
• 2 years of industrial experience.
Education:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Office certification is a plus.
• OSHA certification is preferred.
