The Role: Part-Time Swim Instructor
Hudson Valley Swim is a year-round aquatic instruction program serving swimmers from 4 months of age through adult. We're looking for an experienced, energetic Swim Instructor to join our team in Tyler, TX. This is a part-time position with approximately 10-15 hours per week, with scheduling flexibility across days, evenings, and weekends. You'll work with swimmers across all skill levels and age groups - from infants and toddlers to adult learners. Candidates with a current CPR certificate, 3+ years of swim instruction experience, and a WSI certificate will be prioritize when setting up interviews. Our program uses a structured, proprietary curriculum focused on water safety, stroke development, and building lifelong confidence in the water. Our instructors are the heart of what we do.

What You'll Do: Responsibilities
Deliver structured swim lessons using our proprietary curriculum across all skill levels, including special needs swimmers
Provide instruction for infants, toddlers, children, and adults - comfort and experience with all age groups is key
Demonstrate proper technique and enforce water safety protocols at all times
Track student progress and provide constructive feedback to participants and families
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming pool environment
Deliver excellent customer service in every interaction
What We're Looking For: Requirements
3+ years of swim instruction experience required, including experience with infant/toddler programming
CPR certification required
WSI certification strongly preferred
Strong ability to work with children and adults of diverse ages, backgrounds, and abilities
Knowledge of behavior management techniques
Bilingual in Spanish is a significant plus
Availability across a mix of day, evening, and weekend hours

The primary goal at Hudson Valley Swim is to teach proper swimming techniques no matter the age of the student. Equally important is to create a safe, positive, and fun environment where swimmers of all ages can build confidence, develop their skills, and enjoy the water for life. We maintain small class sizes to ensure the student gets the care and support needed and our experienced instructors are trained to teach all levels, allowing students to move through swimming lesson levels without changing instructors.
