Job Description
We are searching for an analytically minded Diesel Mechanic to help our repair shop's customers resolve issues with their vehicles' performance, structure, appearance, and functionality. Our ideal candidate is comfortable communicating with customers about their vehicles' performance and maintenance history. You'll be tasked with inspecting automobiles' mechanical components, systems, and parts to determine their necessary fixes. You'll also maintain repair shop equipment and prepare cost estimates. If you're an automotive professional with excellent customer service skills, please apply today!Compensation:$25 - $35 hourlyResponsibilities:Inspect, test drive, and perform diagnostic tests to determine vehicle problems, parts needed for repairs, and necessary work
Keep organized vehicle repairs, maintenance, and service history records.
Collaborate with supervisors and fellow auto mechanics to diagnose and repair vehicles' mechanical issues
Complete preventive maintenance work on vehicles, including oil changes, air conditioning service, filling fluids, and replacing brake pads, spark plugs, and batteries
Identify and address mechanical problems and malfunction codes found in the vehicle's electrical system, mechanical systems, and electronic systems
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Immediately reports any discrepancies to the Fleet ManagerEnsures compliance with all fleet processesUnder general supervision, performs preventive maintenance services and inspects, diagnoses, and repairs vehicles and equipmentUtilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairsPerforms service calls for emergency breakdownsConducts safety checks on vehiclesCompletes required paperwork utilizing the fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair timesReviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection ReportsMaintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety proceduresOther duties as assignedQualifications:Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent
Good manual dexterity and effective use of hand tools and other equipment needed for vehicle repairs
A valid driver's license is necessary
Associate's degree from a vocational program, technical school, or community college is preferred - ASE certification is a big bonus
Must be an effective communicator who maintains a solid work ethic
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, or Other Requirements:Valid driver's license and must have a clean driving record.
