Job Description

To efficiently check a guest in or out of the hotel in a professional and competent manner. Responsibilities: Complete working knowledge of the Front Office computer, including all daily transactions. Promptly, accurately and efficiently know how and where to post all charges. Cordially greet all guests, handle guest registration and room assignments, accommodating special requests whenever possible. Assist in pre-registration and block reservations when necessary. Have thorough knowledge of hotel credit policies and procedures and adhere to them. Know and follow cash handling procedures. Have knowledge of hotel rates, discounts and how to charge. Assist the GM with checking guests in, read all notes to ensure correct rooms are assigned for pets and special needs. Check that all information is in the registration ie: Name, address, phone, email, credit card, any notes. When assigning rooms do not always assign the same room. Have working knowledge of reservations and procedures, take same day reservations. Know and follow cancellation procedures and walk procedures. Have knowledge of hotel property, hotel staff and hotel services with hours of operation. Give clear directions to hotel facilities for inquiring guests. Efficiently operate phone system and accurately connect incoming calls in a professional and efficient manner. All calls should be answered in 4 rings. Prepare hotel breakfast by the hotel GM. Assist, as directed by Management with laundry and cleaning rooms. Lift up to fifty (50) pounds, such as guest's luggage. Perform any additional tasks request or assigned by management team.
