This is a high-impact role responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, leading financial reporting processes, overseeing payroll accounting, and supporting strategic financial operations. If you enjoy owning the month-end close, solving complex accounting challenges, improving financial processes, and partnering with leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, we'd love to hear from you. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, you'll play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting audits, improving internal controls, and driving process improvements across the accounting function.What You'll DoMaintain the integrity of the general ledger through accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysisLead monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close activitiesPrepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedulesEnsure compliance with GAAP, organizational policies, and applicable financial reporting requirementsManage fixed asset accounting, including construction-in-progress (CIP), capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliationsProcess and oversee bi-weekly payroll for union and non-union employeesPrepare payroll tax reporting, payroll reconciliations, and payroll-related journal entriesReview and support accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure accurate financial reportingAssist with the annual independent audit, budget preparation, and regulatory reportingParticipate in ERP, payroll system, and financial software implementationsIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and operational efficiencyMentor team members and provide accounting guidance as neededQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experienceStrong experience with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end closeExperience processing payroll; union payroll experience is preferredExperience with ERP systems and payroll softwareStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting best practicesAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency with Outlook, Word, and PowerPointCPA is preferred but not requiredExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining exceptional accuracyStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to maintain the highest level of confidentialityExperience mentoring or supporting other accounting professionals is a plusWhat We OfferCompetitive salaried compensationComprehensive health benefitsPaid time off and holidaysRetirement planProfessional development opportunitiesStable, collaborative work environmentOpportunity to lead process improvements and contribute to organizational successWhy Join Us?
