Job Description
Perform specialized duties such as:
Manage customs clearance, import/export activities, inventory management, logistics partner management, purchase order (PO) issuance, and container approval to support the timely delivery, installation, and commissioning of manufacturing equipment, tooling, molds, and engineering materials required for new product development and production launches.
Coordinate with global suppliers and logistics partners to ensure engineering specifications, technical documentation, and manufacturing equipment comply with company standards and production requirements.
Lead production planning utilizing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to support new product introduction (NPI), engineering change implementation, production capacity planning, and manufacturing process optimization.
Analyze manufacturing data and engineering requirements to improve production efficiency, product quality, and process stability throughout the product lifecycle.
Manage 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month customer quality assurance activities and 4M (Man, Machine, Material, Method) change management by evaluating engineering changes, validating manufacturing processes, and ensuring compliance with customer-specific requirements and internal engineering standards.
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and product development teams to investigate technical issues, implement corrective actions, and continuously improve manufacturing performance.
Manage HR recruitment, payroll management, and business traveler management for engineering and manufacturing personnel supporting product development, production launches, and cross-functional technical projects.
Provide technical leadership by mentoring and developing engineering personnel while coordinating specialized training programs on proprietary manufacturing processes and vehicle closure technologies.
Conduct complete vehicle system evaluation to validate product functionality, manufacturability, and compliance with customer and company engineering specifications.
Manage equipment manufacturing and receiving management including equipment specification, installation, commissioning, and production qualification for new manufacturing lines.
Lead mold development and process validation to support production readiness and continuous manufacturing improvement.
Perform issue identification and resolution through advanced engineering analysis, root cause investigation, reverse process diagnosis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Manage customer development events by serving as the primary technical liaison during engineering reviews, product validation activities, prototype evaluations, and new vehicle launch programs.
Create master plans for each step of new vehicle launches including engineering development, manufacturing readiness, process validation, pilot production, and mass production implementation.
Lead the development of key production items, including proprietary door latch, tailgate latch, and Power Tailgate (PTG) systems, utilizing specialized company manufacturing processes, engineering methodologies, and validation procedures.
Train development personnel on latch mechanisms, including cinching, override, 2-motion, dead lock, central lock, and anti-pinch functions, transferring specialized technical knowledge of proprietary vehicle closure system design, operation, manufacturing processes, troubleshooting methodologies, and product validation techniques.
Applicant must have a Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineer, Industrial Engineering, or related Science and Engineering field plus minimum of 3 years of experience as Project Manager or related in the automotive industry.
