Electrical Engineer - Hydro Plants
Location: Rancho Cordova, CA (Onsite 5 Days/Week)

Position Summary
COMPANY is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support modifications and upgrades at existing hydroelectric generating facilities. This role requires a hands-on engineering professional who can independently perform advanced engineering analysis, develop technical deliverables, and provide technical guidance on power generation projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in hydroelectric or fossil power plant design and be capable of contributing to multiple projects with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Function in an engineering capacity on power generation projects.
- Develop and modify technical deliverables related to upgrades and modifications of existing hydroelectric generating plants.
- Apply advanced engineering principles, techniques, and analysis with minimal supervision.
- Prepare complex engineering calculations following established methods and industry standards.
- Perform research and develop recommendations for equipment and material selection.
- Prepare engineering designs, reports, specifications, studies, and other technical documents.
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering codes, standards, and COMPANY quality requirements.
- Manage assigned project budget, schedule, and quality objectives.
- Provide technical guidance and support to engineering team members.
- Review and evaluate engineering work completed by junior engineers.
- Coordinate activities across multiple disciplines and project teams.
- Support client needs by identifying project drivers and providing effective engineering solutions.
- Lead production teams or serve as engineer responsible for project execution, as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in hydroelectric or fossil power generation plant design.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code).
- Familiarity with the California Electrical Code.
- Experience using Bluebeam.
- Strong knowledge of electrical power systems and engineering design practices.
- Ability to work onsite in Rancho Cordova, CA, five days per week.
- Must be a U.S. Green Card Holder.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with power system analysis software such as SKM or ETAP.
- Experience leading engineering teams and coordinating multidisciplinary projects.
- Prior experience with power plant modernization, upgrades, or retrofit projects.
