# CAD Technician Junior & Senior Levels

Virginia Beach, VA $25 $40/hour+ Full-Time Office-Based

A growing surveying and engineering organization is seeking CAD Technicians at both the Junior and Senior levels to join its Virginia Beach team. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to build or advance a career in land surveying, CAD, and civil engineering .

The team works on a variety of boundary, topographic, as-built, utility, infrastructure, and government-related surveying projects .

Positions Available

Junior CAD Technician

$25 $30/hour
Recent graduates and early-career candidates encouraged to apply
Relevant education or coursework in Surveying, CAD, Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related field is a plus
Basic CAD experience preferred
Excellent opportunity to develop technical surveying and CAD skills

Senior CAD Technician

$35 $40/hour depending on experience
Approximately 3 5+ years of relevant surveying/CAD experience preferred
Strong experience with survey drafting and land surveying projects
Proficiency with Carlson and AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience with MicroStation, GeoPak, and/or OpenRoads

What You'll Do

Depending on experience level, responsibilities may include:

Prepare survey plats and maps, including boundary, as-built, topographic, and utility surveys
Process data collected by survey crews
Prepare and modify CAD files
Perform construction staking calculations
Conduct courthouse and property research
Support project management and project deliverables
Work with requirements for agencies such as VDOT, USACE, and NAVFAC
Assist with multiple projects while meeting demanding schedules and quality standards
Develop and apply surveying and CAD standards and best practices

What We're Looking For

Interest or experience in land surveying and CAD
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to learn and apply technical processes
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Relevant surveying/CAD education or experience
Senior-level candidates should have strong proficiency in Carlson, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and MicroStation/GeoPak/OpenRoads
