Industrial Electrician Heavy Manufacturing
Location: Northwest Houston, TX
Position: Full-Time
A well-established industrial company is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems supporting heavy processing and manufacturing equipment.
This is a hands-on position for an electrician with strong industrial troubleshooting skills and experience working with PLCs, VFDs, automated controls, and heavy machinery(link removed) The Industrial Electrician will play a key role in maximizing equipment uptime, performing preventative maintenance, and quickly diagnosing and resolving electrical issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and control system issues on heavy industrial processing equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve issues involving PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), sensors, motors, and automated controls(link removed)>
- Maintain electrical components supporting cut-to-length lines, slitting equipment, and other production machinery.
- Perform routine electrical inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Run conduit, pull wire, and install electrical panels, controls, and other components as needed.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and troubleshoot electrical problems efficiently to restore production.
- Follow OSHA, NEC, plant safety, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements at all times.
- Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to support safe and efficient plant operations.
Required Experience
- 35+ years of industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong hands-on experience troubleshooting PLCs and VFDs(link removed)>
- Experience maintaining and repairing electrical systems on heavy processing or production machinery.
- Strong knowledge of motors, sensors, automated controls, electrical panels, and industrial electrical systems.
- Ability to read and troubleshoot from electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical safety practices, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to reliably commute to and commit to working in Northwest Houston.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the steel, metals, heavy manufacturing, or industrial processing industry(link removed)>
- Experience working with cut-to-length lines, slitting lines, or similar processing equipment.
- Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician license is a strong plus.
