Job description: Real Estate Paralegal
Melville, NY In-Person $70,000$85,000, Depending on Experience
A well-established law firm is seeking a full-time, in-person Real Estate Paralegal to join its Property Department in the Melville, NY office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial real estate paralegal to work closely with attorneys, clients, and other professionals on a variety of sophisticated real estate transactions.
Position Responsibilities
- Review purchase and sale agreements and prepare closing checklists, key dates, and docketing memos.
- Collect and review due diligence materials.
- Prepare closing documents and settlement statements for real estate sales, acquisitions, and financing transactions.
- Review title evidence, surveys, zoning, and compliance matters.
- Conduct entity searches through the New York State Department of State.
- Conduct online research to verify property information.
- Communicate extensively with clients and all parties involved in sales, purchases, leasing, and lending transactions.
- Provide general paralegal support to the commercial real estate practice.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Paralegal Certificate and/or Bachelors degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial real estate paralegal experience required, including experience with real estate transactions, loans, sales/acquisitions, leasing, and development in a law firm or in-house legal environment.
- Highly organized, proactive, independent, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work with minimal direction.
- Adaptable and able to respond quickly to changing priorities and demands.
- Comfortable managing a high-volume workload, tight deadlines, and multiple detailed matters simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with clients and transaction parties.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, writing, and verbal communication skills.
