You will work with small classes of approximately 6-10 students, each of whom brings unique strengths, challenges, interests, and tremendous potential. Our students are bright, capable learners who may experience dyslexia, ADHD, or other learning differences. They do not need someone to lower expectations. They need a skilled teacher who can understand how they learn, adapt instruction thoughtfully, and help them rediscover confidence in themselves. Your work will include:Delivering individualized, research-based instruction focused on measurable student growthPlanning and facilitating balanced, engaging learning experiencesUsing structured literacy approaches, including Orton-Gillingham and Wilson Language ProgramsBuilding strong relationships with students and understanding their individual learning profilesDifferentiating instruction based on student strengths, interests, and needsUsing evidence and student data to guide instructional decisionsEncouraging creativity, curiosity, independence, and critical thinkingCreating a classroom culture in which students feel respected, challenged, and safe taking academic risksCommunicating regularly and thoughtfully with familiesCollaborating with colleagues, specialists, and school leadersParticipating in professional development and contributing to the broader Groves communityYou May Be a Great Fit If You Believe every student is capable of meaningful growthKnow that behavior is often communication, not simply defianceCan adjust your approach without lowering the standardValue collaboration and do not believe teaching should be an individual survival sportBring creativity, patience, sound judgment, and a healthy sense of humor to your workCommunicate directly and compassionately with students, families, and colleaguesAre energized by helping students who may have stopped believing they are good at schoolWant to work in a community where specialized instruction is the foundation, not an afterthoughtQualifications Required:Bachelor's degree in education or a related fieldTeaching experience and a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with studentsAbility to design and adapt instruction for a range of learning needsStrong written, verbal, organizational, and technology skills Preferred:Experience teaching students with learning disabilities, dyslexia, or ADHDTraining in Orton-Gillingham or Wilson Language ProgramsSpecial education licensure or trainingExperience using data and student learning profiles to guide instruction Do not count yourself out simply because you do not meet every preferred qualification.
