Job Description The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated candidate to join our Work Window Planning Team in West Mifflin, PA as a Work Expeditor! The Work Expeditor is responsible for coordinating materials, tasks, and labor to ensure efficient execution of shop and field work. This role serves as a central point of control for task gatekeeping, work task readiness, and data reconciliation, working closely with supervisors, planners, and work window coordinators to support both routine and large-scale work evolutions. Key Responsibilities: • Ensure required parts and materials are ordered, tracked, and delivered to the shop in support of scheduled and emergent work. Including shop stock. • Perform task gatekeeping, reviewing incoming work requests and assigning tasks to the appropriate work groups. • Coordinate with supervisors and work leads to track task progress and support timely closeout after work completion. • Update work management systems by adding labor hours to both completed and planned tasks. • Assist Work Window Coordinators during large or complex work evolutions, including schedule coordination and task sequencing. • Perform data reconciliation, ensuring task status, labor, materials, and documentation are accurate and up to date. • Maintain clear and timely task updates to support planning, reporting, and execution. • Support continuous improvement of work control and task management processes. Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 11 years of relevant experience; or Associates degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or Journeymans Papers in a related field and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or Qualification as a Naval Nuclear Propulsion Operator (or commercial nuclear equivalent) and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. Preferred Skills Previous and/or current experience working with TRIRIGA. Previous experience with parts ordering. Experience in work control, maintenance coordination, operations support, or project/task management. Strong understanding of work management systems (e.g., task tracking, labor charging, material management). Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced operational environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with supervisors, planners, and craft personnel. High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make difficult decisions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated customer service skills.
