Certified Welder - Manufacturing & Fabrication

We're Hiring: Certified Welder

We are seeking an experienced Certified Welder to join our manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welding professional with strong MIG and TIG experience who takes pride in producing high-quality work.

The Certified Welder will perform welding and fabrication of prototype and production components according to engineering drawings, customer specifications, and company quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding based on project requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, welding symbols, and work instructions.
  • Fabricate, assemble, fit, and repair metal components and fixtures.
  • Set up and safely operate welding equipment.
  • Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum as required.
  • Inspect completed welds for quality, penetration, strength, and appearance.
  • Use precision measuring tools to verify components meet specifications.
  • Grind, cut, fit, and prepare materials prior to welding.
  • Perform minor fit-up and fabrication work.
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and material-handling equipment when properly certified.
  • Complete required production and quality documentation accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area following 5S standards.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions, defects, and quality concerns.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and waste-reduction initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Current welding certification from an accredited organization, such as AWS or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.
  • Ability to successfully complete a company weld test.
  • Experience with MIG and/or TIG welding.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Dependable with excellent attendance and reliability.

Preferred Experience

  • American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welder (CW).
  • Automotive or prototype manufacturing experience.
  • Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Overhead crane experience.
  • Basic fabrication and machining knowledge.

Successful candidates should have experience with:

  • MIG welding
  • TIG welding
  • Stick welding
  • Metal fabrication and fit-up
  • Blueprint and welding-symbol interpretation
  • Welding inspection techniques
  • Precision measuring tools
  • Hand and power tools
  • Quality inspection
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds independently.
  • Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Work around heat, welding fumes, machinery, and typical manufacturing conditions.
  • Wear all required PPE throughout the shift.

Quality & Safety Expectations

We are looking for welders who take pride in their craftsmanship. Employees are expected to inspect their own work, produce welds that meet customer and company specifications, immediately report defects or concerns, and consistently follow all safety and quality procedures.
