Job DescriptionJob Description
We are seeking a skilled Machine Welder to join our team. Whether you are a mid-career professional looking to refine your specialized fabrication skills or a seasoned industrial welder looking for a long-term, stable environment, this role offers the opportunity to work with specialized equipment on heavy industrial assemblies. You will manufacture, fabricate, and test high-precision metal components to exact engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication & Assembly: Perform Sub Arc welding on heavy metal forms, including 2-piece blanks and cylinders, utilizing precise stringer pass techniques.
- Blueprint Reading & Layout: Interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and ASME code requirements to calculate material dimensions and ensure precise fit-ups.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct visual, dimensional, and radiograph evaluations to maintain high-quality weld integrity and meet a 95% radiograph test efficiency standard.
- Process Execution: Perform supporting operations, including Arc Air gouging, FCAW stringer/hot pass welding, and joint preparation (understanding internal/external dimensions - ID/OD).
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate material handling equipment, including high-capacity lift trucks (up to 40,000 lbs), overhead cranes, and standard hand tools (grinders, hammers, pry bars).
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe workspace in full alignment with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.
What We Are Looking For
- Welding Expertise: Proven hands-on experience in Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) within a manufacturing, heavy industrial, or pressure vessel environment (typically 3-20+ years of active trade experience).
- Code & Blueprint Literacy: Strong functional knowledge of ASME codes and structural/pressure vessel blueprints.
- Material Handling & Tools: Demonstrated capability operating heavy-duty lift equipment and power hand tools safely.
- Quality Focus: A track record of high-spec weld quality, tolerance control, and passing non-destructive testing (NDT/radiographic testing).
- Physical Capability: Ability to handle physical demands typical of heavy industrial fabrication settings.
