Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Single Hand Welder to join our fabrication team building oilfield switch racks, panels, and structural buildings, including work supporting data center infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate is a skilled, self-sufficient welder with strong fabrication skills, mechanical aptitude, and a solid safety record who can work independently to produce high-quality, precision welds on structural steel components.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate oilfield switch racks, panels, and steel-frame buildings to specification
- Perform GMAW and FCAW welding on structural steel components used in industrial and data center enclosures
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings to ensure accurate builds
- Cut, shape, and prepare materials using plasma cutters, torches, grinders, and chop saws
- Install sheet metal, doors, and related hardware to completed structures
- Work with insulation materials as part of building assembly
- Operate overhead cranes, scissor lifts, and forklifts to move materials and support fabrication tasks
- Perform lifting, ladder climbing, and painting as needed to complete assigned work
- Inspect completed welds and fabricated components for quality and structural integrity
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project status and material needs
Job Requirements
- 3-5 years of hands-on GMAW and FCAW welding experience
- Proven experience fabricating steel frame structures
- Plasma cutting experience
- Proficiency with power tools and sheet metal tools
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience operating overhead cranes and scissor lifts
- Door and hardware installation experience
- Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability
- Ability to lift materials, climb ladders, and work at heights
- Reliable transportation and ability to work locally in the Odessa, TX area
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience fabricating equipment for data center, oilfield, or industrial infrastructure projects
- OSHA safety training
- Experience reading technical drawings and weld specifications
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver materials as required for fabrication work
- Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated heights
- Ability to stand, bend, and work in varying shop conditions for extended periods
