Job Description

A privately held, established manufacturing organization is conducting a confidential search for a Financial Controller to oversee accounting and finance operations. The company employs a workforce of approximately 150-300 employees and operates a complex, multi-functional business environment.

Job Summary

Lead financial planning, reporting, and accounting operations for a growing manufacturing organization, reporting to corporate executive team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, inventory accounting and revenue recognition.

  • Manage customer credit terms, credit limits, collections, and related risk-management activities.

  • Recruit, develop, and lead accounting staff.

  • Direct the monthly and annual close process and ensure timely, accurate financial statements.

  • Prepare lender reporting, including borrowing-base certificates and debt-covenant compliance information.

  • Coordinate with external accounting partners on financial statement review activity and tax filings.

  • Manage annual audits and examinations involving banking, insurance, retirement plans, and other compliance requirements.

  • Serve as the primary contact for banking, financing, accounting, and legal relationships; assess capital-equipment financing proposals.

  • Participate in executive-level planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business performance analysis.

  • Support insurance, contracts, negotiations, and important external business relationships.

  • Research and resolve technical accounting matters to support compliance and sound financial controls.



Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • ERP system experience required.

  • Ability to prioritize effectively, work independently, and exercise sound judgment.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.

  • Solid working knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.

Experience Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or comparable senior accounting leadership role.

  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; advanced degree preferred.

  • CPA license preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial statement preparation, general ledger management, and month-end/year-end close processes.

  • Strong accounting-system and financial-software skills.
