Job Description

Ashley Hughes-Jefferson Consulting LLC is recruiting an experienced Quality Engineer Electronics Manufacturing & Process Quality for an onsite engineering opportunity in Fort Worth, Texas.

This position is specifically focused on manufacturing and product quality engineering. Candidates should have hands-on experience within manufacturing environments rather than primarily software QA/testing backgrounds.

The selected engineer will oversee production quality processes, monitor quality performance, investigate manufacturing defects, lead corrective actions, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve product quality.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor quality control activities throughout the manufacturing process
Track First Pass Yield (FPY) and other quality KPIs
Analyze manufacturing quality data and identify recurring trends
Perform root cause and failure analysis
Develop and track corrective and preventive actions
Lead and close 8D corrective actions
Develop and maintain PFMEA documentation
Collaborate with QC inspectors, engineers, production teams, and other stakeholders
Investigate manufacturing defects and implement corrective solutions
Respond to customer quality concerns
Support continuous improvement initiatives
Review technical drawings and manufacturing specifications
Work with design and engineering teams to ensure products can be manufactured according to quality requirements

Required Qualifications

Candidates should have:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of relevant product/manufacturing engineering experience
Experience involving product design, development, testing, and manufacturing processes
Approximately 2+ years of experience leading engineers or technicians
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949
Experience with Minitab
Root cause analysis and problem-solving experience
Knowledge of 8D corrective action methodology
PFMEA experience
Strong quality data analysis and reporting capabilities
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

Experience with CQE certification, SMT manufacturing, failure analysis, Lean Six Sigma, CAPA, or related quality methodologies is preferred.

Important Location Requirement

This is an onsite manufacturing position in Fort Worth, TX 76177.

Candidates should currently live within approximately 30 minutes of ZIP Code 76177 and be able to reliably work onsite.

The work environment includes both office and production-floor activities. Candidates should be comfortable working around manufacturing equipment, using appropriate PPE, and standing or walking for periods during inspections.
