We're looking for a CPA who is passionate about building strong client relationships, confident working independently, and committed to delivering accurate, timely, and thoughtful work. This is a client-facing position for someone who enjoys solving complex tax matters and takes pride in providing exceptional service. As a trusted tax advisor, you'll serve a diverse portfolio of business and individual clients, preparing and reviewing tax returns, providing proactive tax planning and advisory services, and helping clients make informed financial decisions throughout the year-not just during tax season. The ideal candidate combines strong technical tax knowledge with sound professional judgment and a client-first mindset. Duties and Responsibilities Client AdvisoryServe as a primary point of contact and trusted advisor for assigned clients on tax mattersLead quarterly tax planning conversations and identify opportunities to reduce tax liabilityExplain complex tax concepts in a clear, confident, client-friendly wayRespond to client questions and IRS correspondence with professionalism and urgencyBuild long-term client relationships through proactive communication and responsiveness Tax Preparation & CompliancePrepare, review and file business tax returns, including partnerships (1065), S-Corporations (1120-S), C-Corporations (1120), single-member LLCs (Schedule C), and trusts/estates where applicablePrepare, review and file individual returns (1040), including multi-state filings, high-net-worth individuals, rental properties, and investment incomeEnsure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulationsStay current on changing tax laws and communicate relevant updates to clients Advisory & PlanningCalculate estimated tax payments and support quarterly planningAdvise clients on entity selection and structuringSupport retirement planning strategies and cash flow/tax forecastingProvide audit support and represent client interests as needed Growth & CollaborationIdentify opportunities to expand services and support the continued growth of OnPoint's tax practiceCollaborate with the broader accounting and advisory teams to deliver seamless client experienceMaintain confidentiality and safeguard client financial and tax data What Success Looks LikeClients trust you and know they can count on a timely, accurate responseReturns and filings are completed accurately and on scheduleYou proactively surface tax-saving opportunities rather than waiting to be askedYou contribute ideas that help grow and strengthen OnPoint's tax service line Minimum Qualifications Active CPA license required3+ years of tax preparation experience across business and individual returnsClient-facing experience, comfortable serving as a client's primary contactStrong knowledge of GAAP and current federal/state tax regulations Critical Competencies Confidence to work independently while knowing when to escalate complex issuesStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to research and resolve tax issuesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExceptional organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentProficiency with tax preparation software, QuickBooks (Desktop & Online), Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and related financial/accounting systems Why Join OnPoint Join a growing firm that is strategically investing in its tax practice and creating opportunities for meaningful professional growth.
