About the Role:

The Head Coach Flag Football position is a leadership role responsible for developing and managing a competitive and educational flag football program within an educational setting. The primary goal is to cultivate athletes' skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship while promoting physical fitness and a positive sporting environment. This role involves designing training sessions, strategizing game plans, and mentoring players to achieve both individual and team success. The Head Coach will also collaborate with school administrators, parents, and other coaches to ensure the program aligns with educational values and community standards. Ultimately, the position aims to foster a lifelong appreciation for sports and healthy competition among participants.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience coaching flag football or a related sport at the youth or educational level.
  • Strong knowledge of flag football rules, techniques, and strategies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Background in physical education, sports management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR or willingness to obtain upon hiring.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a head coach or assistant coach in an educational or community sports program.
  • Formal coaching certification from a recognized sports organization.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and fostering inclusive team environments.
  • Knowledge of athlete development principles and injury prevention techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage sports events or tournaments.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and conduct regular flag football practices and training sessions tailored to various skill levels.
  • Develop game strategies, analyze team performance, and make real-time decisions during competitions.
  • Mentor and motivate student-athletes to improve their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Coordinate with school officials, parents, and other stakeholders to support program goals and logistics.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, league rules, and educational policies related to student athletics.
