COMPANY is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer - Power System Protection to join its Protective Relay Settings team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with a strong background in protective relay settings, power system analysis, and Protection & Control (P&C) design.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
5-10 years of transmission industry experience
Experience with Protection & Control design, including one-lines, three-lines, schematics, and wiring diagrams
5+ years developing protective relay settings for line, transformer, breaker, and bus protection
Experience with ASPEN, CAPE, CYME, ETAP, SKM, or similar modeling software
Strong understanding of transmission, distribution, and renewable collector substation protection schemes
Experience using Mathcad and Excel for protection calculations
Knowledge of DNP, SEL, MMS, Modbus, and related communication protocols
Knowledge of IEC 61850 including GOOSE, MMS, and SV
Familiarity with NERC-PRC standards and industry best practices
Strong communication and client-facing skills
Experience leading small projects, supporting proposals, and performing QA/QC reviews
PE License preferred
