Key Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawings for low voltage system designs (structured cabling, fire alarm, security, and access control, audio visual).
- Review and verify Bill of Materials (BOM) for accuracy and project requirements.
- Ensure all necessary materials are available and coordinate restocking as needed.
- Contact vendors to confirm product availability, lead times, and pricing.
- Work closely with the purchasing department to ensure timely ordering of materials.
- Maintain and organize project design files and technical documentation.
- Revise and update drawings based on feedback from engineering or field teams.
- Collaborate with project managers and field supervisors to resolve design or material issues.
- Assist in creating submittal packages and as-built documentation.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or technical certificate in Drafting or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of AutoCAD drafting experience in the low voltage or related industry.
- Working knowledge of structured cabling, fire alarm, and security system design.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design work and material planning.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Ability to work well with multiple departments including engineering, purchasing, and field operations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (knowledge of Revit or other CAD tools is a plus).
