We're currently seeking a Special Education Teacher to join a school team in Cook County.
Position Details:
Position: Special Education Teacher
Location: Cook County
Age group: Middle School
Duration: 2026/2027 school year
Schedule: 35 hours per week
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and learning support aligned to students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Develop, implement, and manage IEPs, including goals, accommodations/modifications, service minutes, and progress monitoring.
Deliver instruction in a variety of settings as needed (e.g., inclusion, resource, or self-contained), based on student needs.
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and school support staff to ensure students can access the curriculum.
Use data to track progress, adjust instruction, and document growth toward IEP goals.
Support positive behavior and social-emotional development using student-centered and trauma-informed practices.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with special education timelines and state/federal requirements.
Participate in IEP meetings, parent/guardian communication, and multidisciplinary team planning.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education (or related field).
Active New Hampshire special education licensure/certification (or eligibility to obtain).
Knowledge of special education laws and compliance requirements (IDEA/IEP processes).
Strong communication, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
School-based experience preferred (but not required, depending on the role).
