Company Profile:

The founders of Travis Body & Trailer, Inc. began operations in 1989 after purchasing the facilities of CMC Trailers, Inc. in Houston, Texas. During the first year, Travis manufactured only the classic aluminum end dump trailer. These trailers were little changed from the older CMC designs from the 1970's and 1980's. Travis has grown rapidly in size and national market share since those early days. This growth was stimulated by both overall industry demand as well as by the determination of the Travis team to become number 1 in quality through both expert fabrication and innovation.

Job Purpose:

Travis Body & Trailers, Inc is actively seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician for a permanent, full-time position. We are conveniently located in NW Houston near the intersection of Highway 6 and FM 529. We are looking for a 'can-do' attitude with great mechanical inclination. Looking to start immediately

Required Skills:

  • Must have experience in repair with hydraulic ironworkers, brake presses, plasma cutters, cranes, welders (Lincoln & Miller) and lift trucks
  • Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics
  • Must be able to use precision measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers
  • Knowledge of all OSHA Standards
  • Must be able to identify components from parts breakdowns
  • Must be able to troubleshoot power transmission components, bearings, belts, cams, etc.
  • Must be able to read and understand schematics and do basic calculations to specify components
  • Ability to use electrical troubleshooting tools to include a multimeter, amp meter, etc.
  • Perform preventive or corrective maintenance on robotic systems and components
  • Welding experience preferred, but not required
  • CNC Plasma experience preferred, but not required
  • Troubleshoot robotic systems, using knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor or feedback systems, hydraulics, or pneumatics preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work well with others is a must
  • This is a lean manufacturing environment where all employees have a broad range of responsibilities.
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from work
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Must have valid/unexpired TX DL and clean MVR

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly standing, stopping, kneeling and crouching
  • Regularly bending and turning at waist
  • Regularly pulling, pushing, reaching, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Regularly climbing ladder and use of scissor lift
  • Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions

Required Work Hours and Schedules:

  • Monday thru Friday, 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Occasional overtime in the evening or Saturday work
