Facilities & Maintenance Technician


Position Summary


The Facilities & Maintenance Technician helps keep InterConnect Wiring's facilities, equipment, and work areas safe, clean, functional, and ready to support daily aerospace manufacturing operations. This hands-on role performs routine facility maintenance, basic repairs, upkeep, and workplace support while responding to internal requests and assisting with facility improvement projects.

The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically capable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position plays an important role in maintaining a professional, efficient workplace and ensuring production and support teams have the facilities and resources they need to perform their jobs effectively.


Key Responsibilities


Facility & Workplace Maintenance

  • Perform routine maintenance and general upkeep of company facilities, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional work areas throughout the facility.
  • Perform basic janitorial, painting, and general building maintenance activities.
  • Complete recurring facility tasks and respond to new maintenance and workplace requests as priorities change.
  • Restock and maintain employee common areas, including restrooms and break rooms.
  • Monitor facility conditions and identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, or opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with facility improvement, repair, and relocation projects as needed.

Manufacturing & Equipment Support

  • Perform routine upkeep and basic maintenance on shop machinery and equipment.
  • Use basic mechanical skills to troubleshoot and address routine maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing personnel to minimize disruption to production activities.
  • Escalate equipment or facility issues that require specialized repair or outside service.
  • Help maintain a safe, functional, and production-ready manufacturing environment.

Internal Customer Support

  • Respond promptly and professionally to facility-related requests from employees and departments.
  • Prioritize multiple work requests based on urgency, operational needs, and available resources.
  • Work collaboratively with employees across the organization to complete facility and workplace projects.
  • Perform assignments with minimal supervision while keeping appropriate personnel informed of progress or issues.

Company Support & Logistics

  • Make company-related customer pickups and deliveries as needed.
  • Assist with moving, organizing, or staging materials, furnishings, equipment, and other items.
  • Support special projects and other facility-related activities as assigned.

Continuous Improvement & Safety

  • Identify opportunities to improve facility conditions, workplace efficiency, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow applicable manufacturing and facility safety requirements.
  • Support a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.



Requirements:

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current, valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine maintenance and upkeep.
  • Basic knowledge of janitorial, painting, and general facility maintenance practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and respond to changing internal customer needs.
  • Self-directed work style with the ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees across multiple departments.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, manufacturing support, or a related hands-on role.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience performing basic mechanical troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices.
  • Aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials, supplies, tools, and equipment as required to perform job duties.
  • Ability to safely lift items of varying weights using appropriate lifting techniques and equipment when necessary.
  • Ability to perform hands-on facility and maintenance activities throughout the workday.
  • Ability to walk throughout the manufacturing facility and access various work areas.
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, kneel, and work in different physical positions as required to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to safely handle tools, equipment, and materials associated with routine facility and maintenance activities.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment where noise, temperature variations, and other typical industrial conditions may be present.
