The Manufacturing CAD Designer will play a key role within a large engineering team, focusing on product design through precise 3D modeling and technical drafting. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, this position involves supporting prototype development, design modifications, and ensuring manufacturing documentation accuracy. Collaboration across departments and adherence to quality standards are essential to drive successful tooling design and material specification processes.
Responsibilities
- Create and modify 3D models to support product design needs
- Produce detailed technical drafts and manufacturing documentation
- Support prototype development and design iterations
- Manage CAD data and maintain version control
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility
- Conduct design reviews and uphold quality assurance standards
- Design tooling and specify appropriate materials
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in CAD design
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Creo
- Strong skills in technical drawing and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and 3D modeling techniques
- Effective problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for collaborative teamwork
