Role Overview:


We are seeking a dynamic and technically adept Sales Engineer to foster and expand customer relationships in the medical-device packaging sector. This is a strategic, full-time, salaried position located in greater Newark, New Jersey area, and is designed for individuals with a passion for blending technical solutions expertise with customer service excellence. This is considered a hunter and farmer combination role.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Business Development: Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through strategic prospecting, networking, and market research.

  • Account Management: Strengthen and grow existing customer relationships by understanding their technical needs and aligning them with our solutions.

  • Technical Expertise: Conduct thorough product knowledge sessions and technical discovery to effectively connect customer challenges with appropriate solutions.

  • Customer Engagement: Engage in regular customer visits and travel within the United States (20-30% travel) for meetings, demonstrations, and trade shows.

  • Opportunity Management: Manage the sales pipeline through detailed qualification, forecasting, and maintaining CRM systems.

  • Proposal Development: Collaborate with internal teams to prepare and present detailed proposals and quotations to customers.

  • Market Insight: Provide feedback on market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities for future growth.


Qualifications:



  • 3-5 years of experience in technical, industrial, automation, or capital-equipment sales.

  • Proven track record in business development and maintaining long-term customer relationships.

  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly grasp complex manufacturing processes.

  • Proficiency in CRM systems, digital communication tools, and standard business software.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and organizational skills.

  • Willingness and ability to travel primarily within the U.S, with occasional interntational travel.


Preferred Experience:



  • Experience in selling custom machinery or packaging systems.

  • Background in Medical-Device Manufacturing, Sterile Manufacturing Environments or Cleanroom environments(link removed)>
  • Engineering or related technical degree is advantageous.


Work Environment: This role operates within office, manufacturing, and trade-show settings. The candidate must be comfortable with travel and engaging in varied environments.
