Role purpose This position is responsible for electrical maintenance and repair of production equipment in a multi-purpose industrial processing facility. Essential functionsRepair and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipmentAbility to use a variety of hand and power toolsThorough understanding and a leader in good electrical safety practices and regulationsPerforms preventive/predictive maintenance activities using the latest predictive technologiesOperates electrical test equipment including VOM, megger, and amprobePerforms preventive maintenance and troubleshoots motor control and lighting systemsUnderstands three-phase motors: starter sizes, changing overloads and heaters, wiring terminations, phase rotations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairPLC main components familiarization, system troubleshooting, installation, and repairInterprets instrumentation schematics/symbols for installation, troubleshooting, and repairUses HMI screens to troubleshoot and understand process controlsUnderstands AC motor / VFD theories: VFD sizing, control wiring, installation and configuration, parameter modifications, VFD troubleshooting and maintenanceInstalls electrical conduit, cable trays, wiring, and electrical equipment in the field as part of the expected skill of the craftAbility to determine and install small three-phase transformers (sizing and wiring)Understands fuse, wire, and overload sizingBasic understanding of various electrical controls and ability to interpret electrical schematics and symbolsBasic understanding of the National Electrical CodeBasic computer operating skills, and teachable on how to utilize a laptop to interface with plant PLCs, VFDs, and servos of various typesUnderstands building emergency lighting battery UPS systems and inverter controlsPerforms other duties as assigned Knowledge and skillsMust be willing to be on an annual rotation schedule for on-call coverage, including nights and weekendsMust be willing to adjust to varying workloads and schedulesBasic understanding of industrial plant electric distribution systemsBasic understanding of industrial plant control systemsBasic understanding of NFPA 70E and 70B codes (safety and testing)Must be able to run rigid and flex conduit in the field as skill of the craftMust be willing to take direction and work as a team player with peer technicians, mechanics, engineering, and contractors Education and experienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredAssociate's degree and/or technical certification preferredWorking knowledge of electrical hazardous area classifications (Class I & Class II) is a plusWorking knowledge of Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLCs and Allen Bradley software (RSLinx, RSLogix5000, RSLogix500, and SLC500) is a plusUnderstanding of Siemens and TI PLCs and their system upgrading is a plus TKO Staffing is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and an inclusive, safe environment for all professionals.
