We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to assist the Project Manager to oversee high-end residential construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This role is responsible for assisting the managagement of schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and client communication to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive and an excellent communicator, with some familiarity and background knowledge of residential construction.

Job Overview

Reporting to the Project Manager and Director of Construction, the Assistant Project Manager is essential to project success, providing organization, communication, and documentation that keep complex residential projects running smoothly. The APM keeps projects organized, clients informed, subcontractors accountable, and leadership focused on strategic priorities. The APM acts as a bridge between the Project Manager, Foreman, subcontractors and clients - anticipating needs, tracking progress, and anticipating problems before they become obstacles.

Qualifications and Skills

1 3 years of experience in residential construction, construction management, or a related field preferred.
Working knowledge of residential construction, including common trades, their responsibilities, and the general sequence of construction.
Experience supporting custom home, high-end residential, or similarly complex construction projects preferred.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and other project documentsand use that information to support project coordination and execution.
Understanding of project control documents and their role in maintaining accurate, current project information. Ability to organize, maintain, track, and update documents such as drawings and revisions, specifications, submittals, RFIs, change documentation, selections, schedules, and other project records.
Ability to identify discrepancies, missing information, outdated documents, or coordination issues and bring them to the appropriate team member for resolution.
Experience communicating and coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal project teams.
Strong computer and technology skills are required. This is a computer-intensive position that requires frequent use of digital systems for project documentation, communication, scheduling, tracking, and coordination.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
Experience with, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn, construction and project management software such as Buildertrend.
Comfortable navigating multiple software platforms, cloud-based files, digital plans and documents, email, and web-based applications throughout the workday.
Ability to learn new software and technology independently and adapt as company systems and processes evolve.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and project details simultaneously.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when entering, reviewing, and maintaining project information and documentation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate needs, identify potential issues, and follow through on solutions.
