Role Description The Elevator Mechanic at Genuine Quality Elevator is a full-time, on-site role based in San Jose, CA. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing elevator systems and related equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Typical day-to-day tasks include performing scheduled preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, replacing or adjusting parts, and conducting safety and functional tests. The Elevator Mechanic also documents all work performed, communicates findings and recommendations to supervisors or clients, and follows all applicable safety regulations, building codes, and company procedures. Collaboration with other technicians, building personnel, and vendors is expected to ensure timely and high-quality service.
Qualifications

Strong skills in Elevator Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for various elevator systems.
Ability to work with Elevators and apply effective Troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve issues.
Knowledge of Electricity, electrical components, and safe practices when working with powered equipment.
Relevant technical training, trade school, or apprenticeship in elevator technology, electrical, or mechanical fields.
Experience reading and interpreting technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings.
Commitment to safety, adherence to codes and regulations, and attention to detail in all tasks.
Ability to lift and move heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform physical tasks as required.
Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally to job sites as needed.
