Skilled Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician
We are hiring an experienced Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician to join a busy truck and fleet repair operation. This role is ideal for a hands-on mechanic who takes pride in quality repairs, can troubleshoot confidently, and enjoys working on a variety of medium- and heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and fleet vehicles.
The right candidate will have strong experience with diesel engines, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, preventive maintenance, DOT-related repairs, and general truck/trailer diagnostics. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants steady work, a strong shop environment, and the ability to use their skills every day without being stuck doing the same repair over and over.
Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain medium- and heavy-duty diesel trucks, trailers, and fleet vehicles
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and DOT-related repairs
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension, and drivetrain issues
Repair and replace components such as brakes, wheel ends, air systems, starters, alternators, batteries, belts, hoses, and suspension parts
Use diagnostic tools and hands-on troubleshooting to identify issues accurately
Perform trailer repairs, including lighting, air lines, doors, flooring, ABS, and general structural components
Complete repairs safely, efficiently, and with attention to quality
Document work performed, parts used, and repair recommendations
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Communicate with service advisors, managers, and other technicians as needed
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Fleet Mechanic, Heavy-Duty Mechanic, Truck Mechanic, or Trailer Mechanic
Strong knowledge of diesel trucks, trailers, air brake systems, suspension, electrical, and preventive maintenance
Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues with minimal supervision
Experience with DOT inspections and commercial fleet maintenance is a plus
Welding, fabrication, hydraulic, or liftgate experience is a plus
CDL is a plus, but not required
Must have your own basic hand tools
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
Ability to work safely in a fast-paced repair shop environment
