Our client, a growing Houston-area law firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Assistant/Legal Secretary to support their attorneys through all phases of litigation. The ideal candidate will have 4 or more years of litigation experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Draft legal correspondence, reports, pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and other legal documents for attorney review.
- Prepare and file court documents in accordance with applicable court rules and deadlines.
- Prepare supporting documentation and maintain case files throughout the litigation process.
- Review legal documents for accuracy, completeness, and factual consistency.
- Coordinate case calendars, monitor deadlines, and ensure timely filings.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical case files.
- Assist with special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 4 or more years of professional experience as a litigation legal assistant or legal secretary.
- Experience with healthcare insurance collections is preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with legal case management and document management software is a plus.
