Norfolk, VA $31-$35/hr + OT Monday-Friday No Weekends

Tired of flat rate, chasing hours and arguing over flagged time?

This is hourly mechanic work - fix the car, get paid for your time, and go home.

We're looking for a solid B-level Automotive Technician to join a busy, established shop in Norfolk. There's always work on the rack with 150 vehicles in reconditioning, plus customer and post-sale warranty work. No shortage of work and no pressure to sell hours.

What You'll Be Doing

• Diagnose and repair all makes and models, with a focus on everyday commuter vehicles
• Suspension, steering, brakes, electrical, drivability and general mechanical work
• Component-level repairs
• Engine and transmission R&R is available if you're comfortable with it, but not required
• Handle repairs typically running 3-10 book hours
• Use professional scan tools, including Autel
• Work efficiently, diagnose the problem and get the car fixed right

This is a full-service mechanical shop. No body work and limited dealer-level flashing. The crew is already well-rounded - they need another good tech to help keep the work moving.

The Deal

• $31-$35/hr based on experience
• Hourly - NOT flat rate
• 1.5x OT after 40 hours
• Most techs average around 47 hours/week
• Plenty of OT if you want it - some guys work 40, others 50-55
• Roughly $80K-$100K/year depending on hours
• Monday-Friday, generally 8 AM-5 PM
• No weekends
• Some flexibility on start/end times
• 1 week vacation after your first year
• Paid holidays
