We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Mechanic to perform preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on plant equipment, diesel-powered vehicles, heavy equipment, mobile equipment, and facility systems. This position is responsible for maintaining mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, instrumentation, and control systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations. The ideal candidate has experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance, diesel engine repair, and heavy equipment maintenance. This individual must possess strong troubleshooting skills and be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced industrial environment. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring a high level of accountability, attention to detail, and commitment to workplace safety.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPreventative and Corrective Maintenance Perform preventative, predictive, corrective, warranty, and emergency maintenance on plant equipment, mobile equipment, and facility systems.Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.Perform routine inspections to identify potential equipment failures before they occur.Complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks and accurately document completed work.Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to maximize reliability and reduce downtime.Mechanical and Electrical Repairs Troubleshoot and repair motors, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, valves, bearings, hydraulic systems, and rotating equipment.Diagnose and repair electrical equipment, including motors, motor controls, switchgear, instrumentation, sensors, and control systems.Troubleshoot flow meters, transmitters, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), PLC-controlled equipment, and other industrial automation systems.Assist Facility Management in diagnosing PLC software and process-control issues.Install, test, and commission new equipment following manufacturer recommendations and company safety procedures.Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical and Heavy Equipment Maintenance Diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel engines and related fuel, cooling, exhaust, and electrical systems.Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on trucks, trailers, forklifts, skid steers, loaders, and other mobile or heavy equipment.Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, braking, steering, suspension, drivetrain, and electrical systems.Conduct routine equipment inspections to identify worn, damaged, or unsafe components.Replace or repair engines, transmissions, starters, alternators, pumps, hoses, belts, bearings, and other mechanical components.Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical and electrical problems.Perform scheduled oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, lubrication, and other preventative maintenance services.Maintain accurate service and repair records for diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment.Ensure all vehicles and equipment are maintained in a safe, reliable, and operational condition.Follow manufacturer specifications and all company, OSHA, and environmental safety requirements when performing repairs.Facility Support Complete work orders according to established priorities and maintenance schedules.Maintain accurate maintenance records using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).Assist with general facility maintenance and housekeeping.Support contractors performing maintenance, repairs, or equipment other departments as operational needs require.Perform other duties as assigned by management.QualificationsRequired High school diploma or GED.Minimum of two years of industrial, manufacturing, mechanical, or maintenance experience.Minimum of two years of hydraulic system experience.Diesel engine and heavy equipment maintenance knowledge.Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.Experience maintaining industrial or mobile equipment.Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic equipment.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.Basic computer skills for work-order documentation and maintenance reporting.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.Preferred Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment.Experience troubleshooting and repairing: Diesel enginesHydraulic systemsTrucks and trailersForklifts, skid steers, and equipment.Physical Requirements Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.Frequently bend, kneel, climb, reach, twist, crouch, crawl, and stoop.Ability to work underneath vehicles, trailers, machinery, and heavy equipment.Ability to safely climb ladders and access elevated equipment.Good vision and hearing to recognize hazards and operate equipment
