We are seeking an experienced Automotive Diagnostic Technician to join

our locally owned, growing automotive repair shop. We are looking for a

skilled technician who takes pride in accurate diagnostics, quality

repairs, and solving complex automotive problems correctly the first time .


This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Automotive

Technician, Automotive Diagnostic Technician, Automotive Electrical

Technician, or Master Technician who is tired of the dealership

environment and wants a professional workplace where their experience and

diagnostic skills are valued.


Our shop prioritizes diagnostics before parts replacement . You will have

access to modern diagnostic technology, including factory scan tools and

lab scopes , and the opportunity to use your technical knowledge and

experience rather than simply following a diagnostic flowchart.


We offer a Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM schedule with no flat rate,

nights, weekends, or holidays , providing a strong work-life balance.



Automotive Diagnostic Technician Duties and Responsibilities

Perform advanced automotive diagnostics and troubleshooting on

passenger vehicles and light trucks

Diagnose complex electrical, electronic, fuel, ignition, and

emissions systems

Use professional automotive scan tools and factory diagnostic

equipment to identify vehicle faults

Utilize oscilloscopes/lab scopes to diagnose electrical and

electronic system problems

Perform computer diagnostics and system testing to accurately

identify root causes of vehicle concerns

Diagnose check engine light, drivability, starting, charging, fuel

delivery, ignition, and electrical problems

Interpret diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and manufacturer diagnostic

information

Read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and

technical service information

Perform electrical circuit testing, voltage-drop testing, continuity

testing, and component testing

Identify the root cause of vehicle problems before recommending parts

replacement

Perform quality automotive repairs based on accurate diagnostic findings

Verify repairs through appropriate testing and post-repair diagnostics

Diagnose and repair OBD-II, emissions, engine management, and vehicle

computer systems

Maintain accurate records of diagnostic findings, repairs, and

recommendations

Communicate diagnostic findings and recommended repairs clearly and

professionally

Work independently while collaborating with other technicians and shop

personnel

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Follow manufacturer specifications, shop procedures, and automotive

safety standards

Stay current with evolving automotive technology, diagnostic

procedures, and vehicle systems



Automotive Diagnostic Technician Requirements and Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred

3+ years of professional automotive repair and diagnostic experience

preferred

Strong hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics and

troubleshooting

Proven experience diagnosing automotive electrical and electronic

systems

Experience diagnosing fuel, ignition, emissions, and engine

management systems

Professional automotive scan tool experience required

Automotive lab scope/oscilloscope experience required

Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and

diagnostic information

Strong understanding of 12V automotive electrical systems and

electronic controls

Experience with OBD-II diagnostics and diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)

ASE Certification preferred

ASE Master Technician certification is a plus

Experience with factory/OEM scan tools preferred

Diesel diagnostic and repair experience is a strong plus

Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to accurately diagnose problems without unnecessary parts

replacement

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Professional communication and customer service skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Valid driver's license required



Compensation & Schedule

Pay: $25-$35 per hour , based on experience and skill level

Hourly bonus opportunities

Paid holidays

Retirement plan

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

No flat-rate pay

No nights

No weekends

No holiday work
