The Automotive Technician / Automotive Mechanic will perform diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and inspections primarily in a small independent shop environment. Reporting to the Service Manager, this role requires skilled hands-on expertise to ensure vehicles are serviced efficiently and safely while maintaining strong customer communication.
Responsibilities
- Conduct vehicle diagnostics to identify issues
- Perform repairs on engines, brakes, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Complete routine maintenance and preventive care
- Carry out thorough vehicle inspections
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs and outcomes
- Adhere to safety standards and compliance regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in automotive repair
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Proficiency in engine diagnostics and brake systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical and hydraulic systems
- Experience with preventive maintenance
- Excellent customer communication abilities
