Director of Paper & Converting
Salary up to $210,000 + Bonuses + Benefits + Paid Relocation
The Paper & Converting Director manages the operations, safety, budget, and workforce for the Paper, Coating, and Converting departments. The primary goal is to drive operational excellence, safety compliance, and profitability while managing large capital improvement projects.
Primary responsibilities for this Paper & Converting Director
Safety & Compliance: Drive first-quartile safety metrics and ensure environmental and regulatory alignment.
Financial Planning: Develop and execute profit-driven budgets, manage material usage standards, and lower manufacturing cost drivers.
Capital Projects: Lead large-scale equipment installations, mill rebuilds, and vendor negotiations.
Labor & Team Development: Foster positive labor relations with the union, while coaching, training, and developing junior operational leaders.
Minimal requirements for this Paper & Converting Director:
At least 10 years in paper manufacturing.
Minimum of 5 years in heavy manufacturing leadership such as Plant Superintendent, Operations Manager.
Direct experience working in a unionized labor environment.
Deep knowledge of Operational Excellence systems (centerlining, reliability systems, basic care) in the paper industry.
